The Conventional View

“The conventional view serves to protect us from the painful job of thinking.”

~ John Kenneth Galbraith

People who stop thinking for themselves, stop growing or learning and stop offering up a unique point of view.

Carol Dueck calls this the ‘Fixed Mindset.’

We like people who colour outside the lines — not necessarily deliberately, or merely for the sake of it — because it challenges our beliefs, this philosophy and our way of doing things.

This forces us to re-evaluate this manifesto regularly based on what makes sense of the information available at the time of writing.

We need to know that we are not above the conventional view and that our point of view will most likely change in 5 years time.

Principles tend to be timeless, but if we’re not constantly striving to do better, then what the hell are we doing?

We don’t regurgitate, we reiterate.
